1. Who we are
Ta'dib Learning Sdn. Bhd. ("Ta'dib", "we", "us") operates the Ta'dib Islamic learning marketplace. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your personal data when you use our Platform.
2. Data we collect
We collect: (a) Account data — name, email address, profile photo, and password hash when you register; (b) Profile data — teaching qualifications, credentials, institutional affiliations, subject specialisations; (c) Transaction data — session bookings, payment records, payout history; (d) Usage data — pages visited, search queries, session durations, device and browser information; (e) Communications — messages sent through the Platform's messaging system; (f) Verification data — credential documents submitted during teacher verification.
3. How we use your data
We use your data to: operate and improve the Platform; verify teacher credentials with partner institutions; process bookings and payments; send transactional emails (booking confirmations, payout notifications); send product updates and marketing communications (with your consent); detect and prevent fraud and abuse; comply with our legal obligations under Malaysian law.
4. Data sharing
We share data with: (a) Partner institutions — teacher credential information is shared with the institution nominated to verify a teacher; (b) Payment processors — transaction data is shared with our payment gateway provider; (c) Analytics providers — anonymised usage data is shared with analytics services; (d) Legal authorities — we will disclose data where required by Malaysian law or valid court order. We do not sell personal data to third parties.
5. Data retention
We retain account data for the lifetime of your account plus 2 years. Verification documents are retained for 5 years after the last endorsement. Transaction records are retained for 7 years in compliance with Malaysian financial regulations. You may request deletion of your account data subject to legal retention requirements.
6. Your rights
Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia), you have the right to: access a copy of your personal data; correct inaccurate data; withdraw consent for marketing communications; request deletion of data where we have no legal obligation to retain it. Submit requests to privacy@taadib.com. We will respond within 14 days.
7. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your login session, remember preferences, and collect anonymised analytics. Essential cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for Platform operation. Analytics cookies can be disabled in your browser settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
8. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption for data in transit, encryption at rest for sensitive documents, and access controls limiting data access to authorised personnel. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We will notify affected users of any data breaches within 72 hours of discovery.
9. Children
The Platform is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided personal data without consent, contact us at privacy@taadib.com and we will delete the data promptly.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 14 days before taking effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
