Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 June 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Ta'dib ("Platform", "we", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform. These terms apply to all users including learners, teachers, and institutional representatives.
2. Platform description
Ta'dib is an Islamic learning marketplace that connects learners with institution-verified Islamic teachers. The Platform facilitates discovery, booking, and payment for educational sessions. Ta'dib is not itself an educational institution and does not directly provide teaching services.
3. User accounts
You must provide accurate, complete information when registering. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Accounts created on behalf of organisations must be authorised by that organisation.
4. Teacher verification
Teachers on Ta'dib are verified through a 5-level framework requiring institutional endorsement from recognised Islamic bodies. Verification levels are displayed transparently on teacher profiles. Ta'dib facilitates but does not independently guarantee the accuracy of institutional endorsements. Falsification of credentials is grounds for immediate account termination.
5. Bookings and payments
Bookings are confirmed upon payment. Payments are held in escrow and released to teachers after session completion. Learners may cancel up to 24 hours before a session for a full refund. Late cancellations (under 24 hours) are subject to a partial refund as detailed in our Cancellation Policy. Teachers receive payouts on a weekly cycle.
6. Platform fees
Ta'dib charges a platform fee on each booking, deducted from the teacher's earnings. Fee rates are published on the Pricing page and may vary by subscription tier. Fees are inclusive in the amounts shown to learners at checkout. Institutions and teachers on lower tiers may be subject to higher platform fees.
7. Prohibited conduct
Users may not: impersonate another person or institution; post false, misleading, or fraudulent information; use the Platform to promote content contrary to mainstream Islamic scholarship; harass, abuse, or harm other users; attempt to circumvent the Platform to arrange off-platform payments. Violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination.
8. Intellectual property
Ta'dib and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the Platform, including the brand, design, and software. User-generated content (profile information, session recordings with consent) remains the property of the creating user, but you grant Ta'dib a licence to display and process that content for Platform operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ta'dib shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from Platform use. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the fees paid by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. If you use the Platform outside Malaysia, you remain subject to Malaysian law for all Platform-related matters.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email and in-Platform notification at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
